American's History
Lets have a view back history...when the first child gets in d white house..;)..lets start with
***Tad Linc.....+/-***
TAD LINCOLN. Abraham Lincoln's son was 8-years-old when he moved into the White House, where he went to school in the library. He died in 1871 at the age of 18
ALICE ROOSEVELT. The self-described "wild child," smoked on the roof of the White House, fired guns at telegraph poles and walked around with a boa constrictor roped around her neck. She later became known as "Princess Alice," and wore dresses in a shade that became known as Alice blue. She died in 1980 at the age of 96.
MARGARET TRUMAN When Harry Truman's daughter instructed a waiter, "No potatoes, please," the Potato Growers Association flooded the White House with angry letters of protest. Later when she wore a scarf to an event, Women's Wear Daily wrote that she had damaged the millinery industry. Margaret sometimes referred to to the the White House as "The Great White Jail." She passed away in 2008 at the age of 83.
JOHN JR. & CAROLINE KENNEDY "He had this desk in the Oval Office which was made, which belonged to a sea captain," John F. Kennedy Jr. (with sister Caroline Kennedy) has said of his father John F. Kennedy. "I just remember the inside and you could crawl around in it, and there were cavernous spaces in it."
SUSAN FORD BALES The only Presidential daughter to ever hold her prom in the East Room at the White House has said, "We had a great band and every single girl in the class showed up which had never happened before. And I'm sure it had something to do with the fact it was in the White House." The only problem? "They couldn't exactly spike the punch!" Susan (with dad Gerald Ford) joked.
AMY CARTER Amy Carter, president Jimmy Carter's young daughter, famously brought a book to a state dinner - supposedly an insult to foreign guests - and when she built a tree house the Secret Service stood guard below.
CHELSEA CLINTON The Stanford graduate, who has a master degree in international relations from Oxford University, was only 12, when her father, Bill Clinton became president. When Mike Myers famously referred to the teen in a sketch on Saturday Night Live as not "a babe," it triggered an angry reaction, and then an apology by the comedian.
BARBARA & JENNA BUSH The first twins (with dad George W. Bush) were famously busted for underage drinking during their father's first term in office. Then there were also photos of Barbara's dirty dancing and Jenna's steamy make-out session. Now the former party girls live quieter lives: Jenna teachers and lives with her husband Henry Hager in Baltimore, while Barbara- a Yale grad- lives in NYC and works for a Smithsonian museum.
MALIA & SASHA OBAMA Barack Obama's daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, are second youngest kids to ever live in the White House. When asked how she deals with media attention, Malia, according to her mother, said: "Those people aren't there to see me. They just think I'm cute. So I just wave and smile, and then I'm out of there."
Gosh..for once over d years..black living in white house..how matching..;)...breaking record...;)..how lucky for those kids...such a young age can live in such luxury..
