Leon Lai and Gaile Lok

Jennifer Tse (謝婷婷) joined Hong Kong's top models Gaile Lok (樂基兒), Lisa S and Ana R for the launch party of BMW's 7 series yesterday evening.

Asked if she was a car enthusiast, Jennifer replied that she loved driving when she was abroad and often chased the sunset, but she has not been driving after returning to Hong Kong because she is not accustomed to the streets.

With rumours that her sister-in-law Cecilia Cheung (張柏芝) is pregnant again, Jennifer replied that she had only heard about this from the reporters and said she will go and ask Cecilia later. She then asked if she was correct in thinking these things should not be discussed until 100 days into the pregnancy. As for suggestions that her mother Deborah Li (狄波拉) has asked Cecilia to stop giving money to her own family, Jennifer said that Deborah has not made this request and the two families are very amicable.

Gaile's boyfriend Leon Lai (黎明) celebrated his birthday this week and she revealed that she had shared a celebratory meal with him and given him a balloon as a gift. However, she did not cook the meal herself and just paid for it instead. Asked once again about rumours that they plan to wed soon and suggestions that Leon has presented her with a new apartment and a dowry of HK$50 million, Gaile chucked that the reports were very nice, but she did not want to cause misunderstanding, so she had to explain herself. She smiled: "It's not true, but is funny!".

TVB has once again claimed an international accolade as Raymond Lam (林峯) has been presented with the award for Best Drama Performance by an Actor at Singapore's 2008 Asian Television Awards (2008亞洲區電視大獎), presented on Thursday evening.

Raymond was nominated for his performance in The Master of Taichi <太極> and rounds off a perfect year for TVB's hottest artiste.

To celebrate the win, TVB hosted a party for Raymond and fellow cast members from Taichi Selena Li (李詩韻) and Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) were invited, together with TVB executives Virginia Lok (樂易玲) and Tommy Leung (梁家樹).

Asked if he felt that this award was consolation for him losing out on TVB's own Best Actor award this year, he said that they were not linked in any way. He added that because Taichi was aired early on in the year, then it was not fresh in the minds of the Hong Kong audience, unlike Moonlight Resonance <家好月圓> and The Four <少年四大名捕>, but he was pleased that the company had submitted the series as an entry because it was a good showcase for Chinese culture and historical background. He added that he was honoured to be the first Hong Kong artiste to win an Asian Television Award.

Asked how he felt about the poor ratings for Taichi in Hong Kong, Raymond replied that perhaps the local audience found the deeper storyline harder to absorb, but he was pleased that it did well in the overseas market.

Raymond added that in the past, he has always focused on taking part in the awards process, but he was glad that he can win an honour on behalf of Hong Kong this time.
